    Default 7/8 W&B

Well finally got around to finishing this one. I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do with it. I decided to leave it looking old and used. I soaked the scales in nestsfoot oil for a couple days then I sanded the scales to 1k so you could still see the grain in the horn and then polished them shiny. After that I washed them them lightly with a Q-tip to try and draw out some of the oils, but still keep them shiny. I figured I couldn't leave the blade looking old and have brand new looking scales. Hard to tell from the pictures, but the grain has a halographic look when moved in the light. I think they went well with the blade. I haven't finished honing this one yet, but am looking forward to shaving with it since the biggest blade I have used so far is 13/16 hollow ground. This one is heavy.

Nice job - I like soaking old horn in neetsfoot for a couple of days too, but I do it after sanding
Hang on and enjoy the ride...
