Feather Face Lift

This topic isn't really a restoration but more like a makeover.

I bought a feather while waiting on my first shave ready straight to arrive and still use it occasionally for a change of pace. I have never liked the look of the razor, it's just to sterile with the factory plastic handle and brushed SS blade/holder. I had some time on my hands so I thought I would give it a face lift.

I replaced the original handle with some real nice wenge I have and gave them a 10 coat CA finish with a polished aluminum wedge. I wanted to go pin-less at the wedge so I roughed it up with 150 applied a CA designed for use with metal.

I also completely sanded the blade (blade holder) down to 1200 removing all the brushed marks and polished to a mirror chrome like finish. Once it was done I really didn't care for the chrome look so I re-brushed the area that is hollowed warming it up a bit.

Anyway I'm pretty happy with the result.
