    Default Buffing Fail...

Well ladies and gentleman, I just learned the hard way... It was my first attempt at buffing, and I neglected to remember which way the buffing wheel was turning. This was my result; I heard a "ping", then saw a piece of metal fly across the room!

I just got this beat-up Torrey, and was looking forward to restoring it... now I have a much bigger problem!! ...Moral of the story--ALWAYS pay attention to which way the wheel is turining!!

    That's too bad!

But look at the bright side - at least the chunk flew across the room and not into you.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Very true...luckily I wasn't completely "un-smart" and had safety glasses on, but still...could've hurt!!

Use a sharpie to mark the direction of rotation incase of another brainfart. I was buffing a g10 wedge holding with nedle nose, looked up for a second and looked back down...gone Found it in the yard 50ft away Gonna happen, only a matter of when, not if my friend.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
