    Default Replacement scales

I'm thinking of replacing the scales on a couple razors. Classicshaving have some of these for sale.
    Has anyone tried these?
    What are they like ?
    Any good ??

Some of our members like Jason and Gary custom-make scales and do a much better/more unique job out of it. With that being said, I would not get the DOVO stainless steel scales as they're too heavy for most blades. The rest of them should be ok.

The Pakkawood scales are actually quite hevty and would suit a larger blade/wedge better for balance.

The ebony is apparently very slim and prone to crack when pinning.

I'm going to second Ilija's direction toward having a member make a set for you, or you could just do it yourself if you're so inclined.

    Thanks

I think it will be a mix of the two.

Classicshave scales for a couple of nice blades that I want to keep, but have poor black or broken scales

Handmade scales for the really nice blades, like the W&B i've got.

So, the contraversial question..... who makes the best scales????

PS making my own is beyond my abilities at this stage !!

I can't really give you an answer as I've never seen Gary's work up close, but I've had the opportunity to inspect dozens of Jason's scales and he impressed me with his work.
