Thanked: 4942Nice 5/8 W&B
A couple weeks ago when I was showing a friend how to make scales, he asked how the wood would look teamed up with a razor. So.... I restored an old 5/8 smiley W&B and put it on a set of Bubinga Scales. I think he'll be making some more wood scales for sure.
Have fun,
Lynn

Thanked: 1072I'm not a real big wood scale man myself, but there's something about those that I like, slender and elegant, very classy.

Looks really great Lynn!
The wood matches up nice with the wood. I always enjoy seeing your work.

'Would be good to hear your thoughts, 'gunner' about wood durability in wet environs. What finishes are most durable, etc. From custom sporting rifles in the NW, to scales splashed regularly in the sink. You've probably seen/tried what works and what doesn't. If you ever care to talk about this, I think alot of us would be interested, as we see wood scales proliferate.
