    Default 3M Micron Polishing Papers

Have any of you tried 3M Micron Polishing Papers for restoring straights?

    Amazon.com: 37-948 3M Micron Polishing Papers 8 1/2x11" Asst (6): Toys & Games

I am also looking at 3M Wetordry sandpapers of various grits and MAAS metal polish.

I'm fairly new to this whole thing and am looking for supplies to restore by hand without use of any power tools.

Looks interesting, and pretty cheap too. I'd like to hear how it performs if you try it.
It says that the most coarse grit is equal to around 500 grit. So you would only be using it for light restoration/polishing.

They work very well been using them for mostly for Horn polishing for about 2 years now, Phil Dobson brought some with him for me to try when he visited back then ...

They work almost as well as Micro-mesh for a fraction of the price on Acrylics and on Wood too, they can be used wet or dry

I just purchased the 3m polishing paper, and didn't work out so well for blade work but works great on other stuff, like removing nicks from my dovo strop

So, I will get those polishing papers and the sandpapers and do some experimenting based on the helpful info in the guide.
