Thanked: 28Saitou - The First Restoration Chronicles [planning work in progress]
Hi guys, I'm going to be rescaling this bengall, it is one of the first razors I bought I found it in an antique store and paid about 15 dollars for it. Hoping it turns out good and leads me on to many more restores in future. The blade is in okay condition so I was wondering what you guys would suggest for it maybe black emery compound on the buffing wheel? suggestions appreciated. there are a few black spots of im not sure tarnish or something on the spine, and around the tang etc. that i would like to get rid of.
The main thing I want to do is (obviously) put a new set of scales on this baby as it came with a pair of cracked scales which I have since removed (which is harder than glen and others make it look on youtube I realized LOL)
So I'm kind of deciding what sort of a scale shape to go with, I really like gunstock style scales but i don't know if that would go with this particular blade so I'm thinking of doing something quite simple, again any suggestions or advice I would much appreciate.
Here is some pics of the blade to be.
