Wb&e
I thought it was a wade and butcher ,but the tang stamp says
W B & E
PHILA
anyway the scale shape is rather standard this time the wedge is buffalo horn ,pins are brass as is the washers I put a copper bearing in the shank of the blade and the scales are Shea,Oak and the finish is CA ,this time I did two very thick coats and let them dry overnight, the blade just has to be honed now,as do another dozen or so.
This is the last restoration for a while as I have some knives to finish. In the raw the oak is rather plain but when rubbed to 2000 grit and buffed ,it certainly brings out the texture in the wood. I didn`t think it would be much chop but I`m quite surprised and happy with the finish
Kind regards PeterLast edited by bg42; 01-10-2007 at 04:12 AM.
