Looks like a Half Dollar is 30.61mm so the knot size is going to be slighly less from what I am seeing there... I would double check the measurement with a set of Calipers and order one from TGN...

Glen your right on, so your thinking a 30mm knot would be the proper size? also what to strengthen the hole?

I'm far from an expert on this, but I've been burned before using coins as measuring tools. If said coin is 30.61mm, and looking at the picture, is far from falling in; a reduction of a mere .61mm is not going to be enough. Either get some foreign coins to use, or, do as GS sez and measure it. Also, does the hole in the handle flare out toward the top? Just below the flare is where you need to measure.
Silence is Golden, but duct tape is Silver.

Its looking more like 36/32 and it gets a tad wider once past the lip, maybe 37 or 37.5/32nd

    You need Metric measurements...

the sizes you are going to be finding are 24 25 26 28 or 30 mm so you want to get as close to one of those as possible..

Also those sizes are NOT exact there is a +/- of .5mm on those IIRC from the website..

I buy the exact size if possible and fit with a Dremel sanding wheel because the norm is slightly oversize and I would rather have to do a little adjustment to have a tight fit then have slop and glue

27.78252 after conversion, but as i mentioned it gets slightly bigger once past the lip, so im guessing a 28knot would be best used(Guessing, no real clue, please chime in Glen or anyone else with a hands on knowledge of these rebuilds). also what would I use to prep the hole to give it some backbone prior to epoxying the knot into it. That plastic ring wouldnt be a good backbone for the knot in my opinion.
    Thanks

Once you get the Knot in hand you can see how it fits and what you need to do to get it set... I would also guess 28mm **From the info given**

I wouldn't really do anything to the brush until the knot is placed in there for fitting.. after that then you can decide if you need to fill the hole more..
The epoxy itself might be what you will use, you have to check the gap and fit first..
