Ok, different razor now but I'll keep using this thread.
I have a 6/8 Bengall, hollow ground, etching on the blade, black celluloid scales and three pins.
It's actually in a lot better condition than I anticipated. There is red rust on the tang/shank and spine but the blade is pretty good, possibly except for some scratching at the heel where someone may have tried to remove rust or something in the past.
I will try to post pics tonight.
My actual question, though, is if I tried sanding the blade, will the etching just come right off?
If so, I'm considering sanding the spine and shank and leaving it with a satin finish, and just using polish on the blade itself to get it nice and shiny.
If I do want a satin finish, should I stop sanding at a lower grit (say 1000 grit...?) alone or should I polish it after, as well?

Using a fine sandpaper will leave the etching intact. Did it on my Wade and Butcher "The Celebrated" other day and turned out great.

What was the lowest grit you used?

Has anyone used a pin kit from The invisible Edge before? Which way up do the little washers go?
EDIT: Never mind. Done it.Last edited by PigHog; 04-20-2013 at 09:32 PM.
