    Default Bevel width question

I have been restoring quite a few straight lately and I am now in the process of honing them

most of them have been reduced to breadknives in the restoring process.

I am now honing with 1 layer of tape and I end up with a bevel width between 0.5 to 1 mm on most of my blades. All of them are hollow ground. They end up pretty sharp and give a good shave.

I have no restored razors from any other person to compare with so I must ask.... how wide are your restored blades bevels??? Am I doing something wrong there?

    thanks for your help.

Not knowing the spine width of the blade I cannot give you a rule. I have wedges that have a 7mm bevel and some double hollow grounds that the bevel is only ~.2mm
If they shave well, you are home free!
