Default Would like your opinion on these one piece scales

I would like to get your opinion on these one piece scales I made. The wood is well aged mahogany. They have 6 coats of Tru-Oil, and two coats of wood polish. The pin is a micro-fastners. The blade is a George Wostenholm & Sons, Celebrated IXL Razor, Washington Works, Sheffield - Wedge.

Nice scales. Im not one for brown, but thats just me. I like black horn or white bone. One pin only looks great.

    They look nice.

often times in one piece scales they will place a decorative pin or plug on the other end. It balances the scale more and can be very attractive.

How did you stabilize the wood?

You need to have a wedge between the scales. A spacer will cause the scales to bow in with time.

They look like good craftsmanship. 1 piece scales have always been questionable to me..... Maybe because I personally like the look of pins. Of course YMMV. All in all the are nice. Good work! :-)

Are far to thick, they should be half the thickness they are,not a fan of wood scales but Mahogany may not be a good choice.

The proportion seems a bit off for the tall profile of the blade.

My, or anyone else's opinion shouldn't matter so long as you are happy with it, though

How does the balance feel in use?
