Thanked: 0Honing and Restorator Services - Help!
Hello All,
I have about 12 razors in need of honing (maybe some light polish/restoration work - nothing to heavy) but they are too dull for the stones I have. I need someone to get them to shave ready level then I can maintain them from there.
I've been looking at places who offer this service - I found Razor Sharpening UK, which seem excellent, however, at £25 a razor (£41 if they need a polish) I'm looking at a minimum of £300 + shipping. I'd rather use these guys but can't afford it!!
I then found "Madaspen Home" in the US (http://www.madaspenhome.com/straight...harpening.html) they offer a honing service at $22 USD each so about £15 each (£180 total).
My question is has anyone used Madaspen Home? Are they any good/reliable? I'm a little nervouse sending all my razors to the US. Just need some reviews/suggestions.
Thanks!!

Aside from being trustworthy, Max is one of the top restorers in the game.

Though I've not used Max before, his work shown here has been 2nd to none. Another doing great work (scales are not to be believed) is the honorable gssixgun. If there's something I don't want to do myself, I don't think about whom to use. There are probably others, but these two are amazing. 'Don't want to disrespect other capable guys, so if others mention names not yet listed - they're likely worthy of consideration also.
Hrumph, throat clearing (choke) on a big omission. There is, of course - the godfather, better known as Mr. Abrams. In the words of one of the above mentioned guys - 'he's a machine' - meaning doesn't miss.Last edited by pinklather; 04-07-2013 at 01:36 AM.
