Household polish?
Are there any common household "chemicals" that are good for polishing a razor? The blade on my razor has some minor tarnishing and I was hoping to improve it without having to go out and buy special polish. Possible?
Apologies for the poor photo.

I've used baking soda for polishing stains on razors. It works well; its mildly abrasive, yet soft enough so that it doesn't damage. Jut use a damp cloth to rub the baking soda on the metal. Depending on the stain/tarnish, it may take you a while to remove.
You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

Any metal polish should work. And any polish you get for your razor will also work on any other metal objects that need polishing.

yes very fine wool with brand name "windex" we use to use "windex" and aluminum foil to polish up chrome grills on our jeeps.
any chemical polish for mags, silver ext touches the blades edge will dull it, so I put electrical tape on the cutting edge much like the spine when honing to protect it.

Toothpaste, white like Colgate, a little on a damp cloth.
