Thanked: 0Blank grinding?
I do a bit of amateur blacksmithing and metalworking, and I love the idea of making my own blade, but I was wondering how hard it would be to find someone to do a good job grinding a blank if I made one. Any thoughts?

Bill Ellis had done this, but he is on vacation from this site right now.
However, Robert Williams (Papa Bull) is an active member that has been making razors from scratch these past few months. He's another contact !

Bill Ellis at http://www.billysblades.com has been making knives and razors for a couple decades or longer. He's made some really sweet custom razors, including the huge razor you can see in Josh's profile (JLSTORM). I've been corresponding with him via email concerning orders for his restoration CD and he's still in business making razors and selling stuff from his website. Send him an email via hs website telling him what you're looking for and asking him if he'd have the time to provide the service at this time.
IMO he's probably the best on the market for this kind of work. THe others mentioned are definitely high quality craftsman also.
Hope this helps
