    Default Bugger

Yeah - so working on a shave set, with a deadline {don't like them} at the outdoor table {my temporary workshop}....ready to pin and the lovingly restored blade slips between the timber slats of the table and meets the concrete patio...
Bugger... lucky i had more than one EBay razor to work on. Once i get a grinder and workshop happening this one will be re-profiled.
Nothing like a lesson in patience....

EEEK GAAAAHD!!! you drove a brass pin right through the scales and tang!!!!

Seriously, Nasty chip Adam, let us know what you end up doing with it.
Sorry it happened and OUCH I feel for ya.

Been there done it and ain't to proud. ( if it is any consolation I still shave with one that I did similar with, 1/2" shorter still shaves great )

Almost every time something happens "that Shouldnt" we seem to be rushing. As Mom used to say "no good comes from hurrying" God rest her soul... Smart Lady.

Happens to all of us, sooner or later.
Which is one of the reasons why I don't restore for money anymore.
Another reason is I much prefer forging to restoring.

Yep, like Glen says "Rush a restore, wreck a razor"
I'm guilty of it too. Just a couple of weeks ago I put this Fredrick Reynolds 5/8 down on top of a rag on the bench.
A few seconds later I grabbed the rag to use, and the blade went bouncing on the concrete.
    I feel your pain brother.

Looks like you both will end up with a little shorter blade...nothing at all wrong with that at all.

I bought it like this and it is a great shaver, part of my rotation.
