    Default First Project

I picked up a couple of razors for $5. One has no name and the other (after some cleaning) is made by Union Razor Cutlery Co. from Union City, GA. Anyone know anything about the quality of the razors that they produce(d)?

    Congratulations on your finds.

    Photos or it didn't happen.

Consider yourself invited to judge their reputation for yourself. I have no experience with that brand.

Sadly you have suffered some common issues, Bad photos and some did not get correctly attached. For the quality of photos try laying the subject on a patterned surface so that the camera can auto focus. If you don't have a tripod try tucking your elbows in close to your side to stabilize the camera. For a short tutorial on attaching images see the recent contest's first post.

Judging from the photo that came through, you have a little red rust near the pivot and maybe else where. I would start with some mass/mothers polish on some wadded up newspaper to see what comes off. After cleaning, re-pinning, and honing it should shave just fine.

I look forward to your progress.
