first project razor
I ordered a cheap chinese razor off of ebay, a known piece of junk, so that I could do my first razor project and have it not matter that much if it went horribly, horribly wrong. Best case, I have a decent razor that's usable...worst case, I spent $4 for a learning experience!
So the stabilizers were sticking out too far, so I ground them off to do a kind of shoulderless/poor man's Bismarck (not really, I just needed to he able to hone it) with a dremel. Was going quite well and I thought I could do just a bit more when...you (maybe) guessed it, it chipped!
After laughing it off with my neighbour, I rounded it off and said hey, maybe I'll get a unique shaver out of it! Honed it up with a grimy oil stone that my neighbour had to get a somewhat decent bevel on it (my bevel setter is in the mail). After a wash (and many bald patches on my arms later) I took it to my naniwa 12K and then gave it a good stropping.
Next is to make some scales for it!
Didn't get to shave test it as I had already shaved today.Last edited by kwlfca; 05-30-2013 at 01:31 AM.
