Thanked: 170I like the looks of your new chamber. What are the internal dimensions of the World Market jar?

Thanked: 170I went with a gallon Mason jar from World Market. Resin in the mail. Found a toaster oven at a garage sale yesterday. Everything works except my gasket. I think we're supposed to use closed cell neoprene. I'm working on a source for some. I'm getting excited about the first run - hopefully by the 4th of July. Thanks for posting all the steps in your journey, Pixel.

Thanked: 170I went with ZK-TR90 from Kennedy Custom Calls. I think it is the same as Cactus Juice. Jon Kennedy is close to home, so I thought I'd give him a try. We can compare results. I will also try poly on less porus (sp?) wood, and maybe tung oil on tropicals. The journey continues. I will post pictures of my set up as soon as I get it running. What did you use for a gasket?

Thanked: 2027See post 39 above,no gasket, do not need one for my system.
Talked with Jon at lenth yesterday,He makes a great fully plumbed system for cheap,he sent pics but I cannot find them
Is alot to learn,I did some spalted woods yesterday, they go quik, maybe 30 mins at full vac. because they are so soft.
My hardwoods are large brush turning blanks, will run them about 6/8 hrs.

Thanked: 170Go to kennedycustomcalls.com - there are pictures of his chambers, and the manifold he uses to connect several chambers at once, all made out of PVC pipe.

Thanked: 170His chambers are glass tubes - with glass bottoms. He uses PVC for the top and for manifolds. Check the website for details. Also, note that he has an option for removing air from the wood before adding the resin, while still under vacuum. I built that idea into my system.
