Thanked: 2My Razor Cleanup
Hi guys just wanted to show you some pics of my first razor i brought back to greater condition its a Gilbert Brothers 9/8 i scored off the bay pardon the average pics they were off my phone i sanded razor using wet and dry starting with 240 grit which i spent nearly 3 hours on then progressed slowly to 400-600-800-1200-1500-2000 then on buffing wheel and a few different compounds.I never changed the scales they are original and still ok i just cleaned them up a little, i then honed razor using Naniwa 1-4-5-8-12K then .5 chromium oxide crayon Livi type and stropped on latigo must say i really love the very smooth shaves this razor gives especially on upward strokes under neck wonderful shaver thanks for watching.

Thanked: 2Hi I used green compound that I got in my dremel kit then a white compound I got from a Bunnings store here in Oz that was it sorry I cant tell you the name im overseas at the moment I found if you spend a good amount of time on wet and dry sandpapers I dont think the compounds will make a massive difference but saying that I want to try jewelers rouge and see if that helps a bit more cheers
