They had stamps and those kind of brrrr ........ ya . They are colectors items . if you use them , stamps and labels will be gone and its another ordinary hone .
I'm using the bottom side so no problem, label is protected with transparent nail polish

    OK, thanks!
I've looked it up and you're indeed right, it definitely looks as one
but it is way finer than a coticule for instance

I flattened the bottom (mostly, not entirely finished yet), and protected the sticker with transparent nail polish

Hard, fast stone, full of silver sparks (and a few gold ones), gives a bit of white-ish slurry after a while.
Honing results are truly very excellent!

Actually, no. I was just watching it. But I'm glad someone from the site got it, and shared his information about the stone.

There are some stones appearing "comparable" to the black/blue metallic looking Special Stones only for Good razors...

I also own three of these hard type stones with these glittering inclusions, a crosscheck identified mine to be a Pierre Aiguiser Naturelle de Saurat...

Talking with several a people we came to the conclusion that depending on the lapping level in thinking of finess...they can be quite good performers..

Using with water they give a harsh uncomfortable shave, using oil my grit estimation is above 6k-8k, some seems to get a bit higher then that...

The interesting thing is that your example is stamped and ive only seen one other example of those stamped hones, its from Modine on R&S....these just do look to different from the metallic looking special Stones...with their sometimes visible pockmarks.

    Interesting!
I know it isn't a "La Lune" or a "Special Stone" of course, but the mentioning of being a concurrent of "La Lune" seemed intriguing, the stamp "Super Fine" does fulfill its promises, I must say, I've got a HHT4 out of it and a nice shave, maybe indeed a bit harsh, but not uncomfortable. Although it cannot compete with my Jnat's, it can go farther than my coti's, so the "grit-range" seems to fit.
I can relate that the finish is dependable to its lapping level, it indeed seems to be the case.
Still trying to get the best out of it, but it's promising

    Thanks!

A razor stone, no doubt about that, bought with a small coticule on paddle (which has been used upside down, I'll show you that..)

@Helge, very good catch, I like those red La Lune very much!

This stone is called on the french forum CCC (coupechouclub) "la pierre du sud ouest" (the stone from the south west) because as I lived there I have find a very large number of these stone near Toulouse.

    La mystérieuse "Pierre du sud-ouest"

It's a kind of very soft coticule, a very good finishing stone !
