Hey Antoine, no iam not shure its from France...it was bought there actually. Guillaume seems to own a small one of those, and another one was available....
Ive never seen such a swirled/banded stone anywhere....so it was just a guess that it could be from France as Guillaume had a small piece of this type of stone.███▓▒░░.RAZORLOVESTONES.░░▒▓███

The natural stone I am referring to is the Tshushima J-nat. Two types exist. One is a homogenous gray color “From the Sea”, the other has more pattern like yours and is “From the Mountain” which is harder. Both exhibit a silt like smell like from the bottom of the lake.

Yeah sounds good, probably this teem also fits ...i have another stone which has a salty smell, interesting what could be inside a stone in terms of apperance and smell....
Thanks Mike for this "idea" whatever this stone is i have to work a bit more with it too see where it belongs to. Actually from the first tests i think iam in thr finishing range....the first HHT from the stone was quite good....███▓▒░░.RAZORLOVESTONES.░░▒▓███

French Hones
Looking around today on the Italian Internet i found a source of natural stones shown on a museum site. Actually there showed up an Ineresting stone quite comparable in appearance to the "French Mystery" stones. Also having certain plant inclusions and quite fitting in color...
The most interesting for me was that this type of stone was used for honing razors as they describe it on their site...
So mostly the stone doesnt fit here because its the french Hones thread and the origin is Italy, but as i find it resamples the "Mystery Stones" quite well....and on the other Side iam happy that i probably found another razor hone ;-)
