One of my favorite vintage models. Not pretty but very good shavers and easy to hone.

Yes, I suppose the precursor to the 'American Grind' wedge. Lots followed and even German grinders got in on it.
Pure function. I just love them. This one found it's way into my pile on condition.
I might just bid on it myself! Send the dough to Movember!

Are those green scales?

They are yellowish-green. I see a bit of shrinkage going by the wedge, but no signs of warpage nor rot.
All oxidation is indeed over the scale line and is minimal.
In fact, there was a thick coat of dried oil/grease before wiping down with WD.
Some of what is seen is that.
Factory grinding striations are evident over the whole blade.
