I'm not sure if we Americans are smarter or lazier than the Europeans.
I'd rather do 10 laps on an 8k, 10 laps on a 12k, and 10 laps on CrOx (30 laps total)
than to go directly to CrOx and do 60 laps.

For me, fewer laps is fewer chances to mess the bevel up.

I have done 4k to 1 micron diamond to .25 micron diamond on a carving knife, it took a good bit of time, but the blade came out with the same sharpness.
