Stropping with linens and pastes has now become a regular part of my maintenance program with my razors. - and, it's working quite well!

I read once, a while back, that we need to clean the edge of our razor after we hone/strop with pastes. I do that. After using paste, I take a cotton ball, saturated with isopropyl alcohol, I brush/wipe lightly the edge at a 90 degree angle, 3 or 4 times. I then wipe/dry with tissue and start stropping.

Weather I am supposed to do this or not, everything is working just fine. I'll continue to do this no matter what. I feel it's a good thing to do, and it feeds my OCD's.

Is this the accepted thing to do?
