I'll give a report. Really though, thanks for alerting us to this. My HAD requires that I have the other 2 of the 5 known Scottish stones now.

How do these Scottish hones compair to other hones? I'd be quite interested in getting hold of some in the future, so would be great to hear how good they are.

As most interesting listings from the USA end in the middle of the night I always use an auction sniper. I can recommend Gixen: it is free, at 6 USD a year you can have Gixen mirror that snipes for you in case one server crashes.

Steven, so far I can only comment on the rather beautiful Tam O' Shanter hone since that's the only one I currently own. It's a great stone to work with. I use mine with slurry as I believe most others do. I would definitely do a search about Tam O' Shanter or Tam on SRP. You'll read about how some have reported that it excels at working with razors that are prone to micro-chipping, etc. It's also known as Snakestone.

I have a Tam & a Dalmore Blue. When I use that pair I start with the Blue which the general consensus finds to be the equivalent of the Norton 4k. I then go to the Tam with slurry and then the Tam without slurry.

Here is a quote from Joe Chandler in another post," In comparison to my natural stones, let me put it this way...I won't be getting rid of my Tam O' Shanters or Dalmores, coticule or Eschers...some razors respond better to the slower, softer cutting actions of these stones, and they remain a valuable part of my arsenal of honing stuff. Wackers, for instance, because they're so hard and "chippy" seem to love the TOS's. It cuts and hones without microchipping, which I had a lot of problems with on other, more agressive hones".
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
