Naniwa 12k, then Shapton 16k
I'm ready to pull the trigger on a Shapton 16k over at SRD, and a few other things, including a nice 6/8th's Black Bismarck, I like the Bismarcks, This will make number 5 for me (Bismarcks that is) Anyway, getting off topic.
I recently finished a nice Wade and Butcher on a Naniwa 12k with impressive results. I stropped, then shaved, right off the Naniwa 12k. I was quite impressed by the results and the smoothness of the shave.
Now, I'm wondering, and hoping all you Shapton users can help, Will I notice an improvement if I was to go the Shapton 16k. Will it further improve my edge?We have assumed control !

I can't say anything about the Naniwa 12k, having
not had the pleasure of using this hone. The 16k
does finish a razor nicely, however. I wonder if
Glen has snagged the rest of the Naniwa line yet,
because he would be able to tell you how it would
compare to his `sweet 16'

Haven't yet tried a Naniwa 12k, but the Shapton 16k is a great finisher!
It does improve on the edge left by a Chinese 12k, not sure if there's any comparison value there.
