    The more soft slate looks like this to me is the best.

    I'll test anything.........almost........

    Some guy on ebay a couple years back was selling slate hones and I tried 2 of them back then. They really didn't do much of anything from a polishing or finishing perspective. They may still be in a closet somewhere..........

    Sorry Kerger, but they will not work. "Ardosia" has nothing in it that can cut steel.
