    I don't think it is an acronym. Mab probably refers to Queen Mab the fairy. The Mab razor company referred to its razors as dwarf razors, as the cutting edges are only between 2" and 2 1/2" from toe to heel. The wiki article houses some of the logos and advertisements the company used. It's interesting

    Lee is corect - The Mab Co called it after Queen Mab because it was so small. I have had three - all great performers. Two are long gone, sold without complaints from the buyers, the other I have just restored. It has an amazingly sharp edge - just like the other two I sold, so the crumbling must be something to do with another cause. Here are a few pics of my last Mab:

    They are such a pretty razor. I regualarly use razors the same size or smaller, I must have another go with the MAB.
