Thanked: 116Just ordered the 3 hone set that was '50%' wider. Can't wait... Even if it fails, from what you guys said they seem to be awesome stones, it's not that bad of a loss for $114 (shipping included)

Thanked: 5Hello , dear community . I have also bought all the three stones and have been experimenting with them (thank all of you for your advices ) . I am not using any eschers and Turys at the moment because the new welsh slates give an exellent result .I have never reached such results . I lupped one side of the stone 2500 paper , and the other side 380 paper , as the seller advised . May be because of the shortage of experience i can't see the difference betwen the work of the stones . I wonder which level of the lupping of the stone makes work easier ? May be somebody can make a conclusion so that not to come back to this question .Thanks

Thanked: 433My purple one and the dark green one (not the dragons tongue) are fairly similar with the dark green one getting a slightly better edge with plain water. The are a very fun set to play with and try different honing experiments with. I'm very glad I bought mine!

Oh hai! I stumbled upon this thread when looking for info on these hones, which I have found to be quite amazing...
I found them on eBay when I was looking for a decent priced finishing stone, and messaged the seller asking if they would sell just the 6"x2" highest ~15k grit stone with slurry stone for $30 shipped, roughly one third of the buy-it-now price for all three ($85 shipped). He agreed. Took about a week for my stone to arrive, and I love it! Worked up a milky slurry and did 25 laps on four razors, two of which I was honing for a friend. I shaved off of one of mine this morning and it was the best shave I have had thus far (been shaving since February this year)! I am extremely pleased with this stone, and glad I chose it over the more expensive Naniwa 12k. I had to look at a cheaper option due to my budget at the moment, and this fit the bill... no pun intended. Seriously though, I love it. Huge shoutout to AJ for helping me out! I highly recommend everyone try these stones if you haven't already.
Cheers,
Chris

That's it. I'm going to have to order stones from AJ. I had messaged him a while back about the dual stones and also to see if he could do other sizes and he was all "absolutely no problem, just let me know the size and I can quote them for you".
I would really like to add a good finisher, and I'd also like to see how a natural stone performs."Willpower and Dedication are good words," Roland remarked, "There's a bad one, though, that means the same thing. That one is Obsession." -Roland Deschain of Gilead
