Should i be kicking my self....
I lost two auctions because of very stupid bid limits this afternoon.
Vintage James Barlow Sons Straight Razor Manufacturers Sheffield | eBay
Case Gold Nugget XX Straight Razor with Case Never Used | eBay
I set my limit at 35, but could have easily bid 40 or more, was just trying to be frugal..
How bad should i hate my self right now?

Not at all - you set your price and stuck with it which is exactly what you should do. (IMHO) You don't know whether the bidder who won those bid *just* above you, or three times that amount. So for the sake of your own sanity, just walk away and rest assured that there are plenty of other razors that will come up for sale.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Well, you should bid the maximum you are willing to pay, so if somebody else is willing to pay more then they want it more. There is no point of kicking yourself over something you can't control, but if you indeed were willing to pay more then you're definitely not bidding correctly.
In the old days when I was looking for stuff on ebay I would sometime put a low bid early in the auction and still place my real maximum bid at the end. I did it because on few occasions other buyers arranged behind the scenes to purchase the razor off ebay. A seller who gets in the habit of canceling bids and ending the auction early should end up getting ebay's big hammer, hence my early low bid - to make sure ebay's monitoring gets triggered.
The first razor also has genuine ivory scales. Looks in pretty good condition too, and personally I'd have paid more for it.
The second one is definitely used a fair amount.

Razor auctions are like buses. Catch the next one.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Set your Max and forget it.
There are PLENTY others out there!
99.99999% of the time it seems someone comes in in the last 30 seconds or so and places their high bid.

Shit, this bidding all took place last 10 seconds, it was literally an issue of i couldn't type fast enough to beat their bids cause i was copying pasting $35 in
I guess the better question is, should i bid more when i see nice razors like that.

Have you shaved with these bigger razors or do you just want them for the "cool" effect?
I have a LOT of 6/8, 5/8 and a couple 4/8 that give GREAT shaves...
SURE it would be cool to have a MASSIVE blade... but I don't know how it would shave and be able to get into places....
JMO... take that and a quarter you can make a call... LOL
