Thanked: 104His site is varied and you never know what you might find. Beware though, he does have some dead set vintage quality razors, but they come at a price. Equally so there are some great buys too. Keep your eye on it. cheers

When I was still new to straight razors, I almost bought a Gotta NOS from him, kicking myself now that I didn't. I have bagged myself a puma from another seller since, and was lucky that it was hot to go straight away.
I'm going to need a bigger bathroom

Thanked: 104As a downunder member, I feel comfortable with the quality of postage, which led me to Ron's site (RSPE7027). The last 3 razors I have acquired from Ron, and all are shave ready, beautifully prepared, oiled, lovely to shave with quality razors. So no matter where you are he'll get the razor to you. My last one a Modoso 13/16 was the best buy I've had. A marvellous quality of stock. No..I don't know where?
Cheers Bobski

I picked up one from him a while back. The razor was in better shape that I expected from the pics and shipping time from Australia to Northern California was relatively quick. I don't troll the bay an awful lot for razors but have him saved for the times that I do.

Time to put some lemon. It's lime time.

Thanked: 104I'm waiting right now for another parcel, (Dorko 651 13/16) another terrific blade from Ron spencer on the RSPE7027 e bay site. I like buying from this fellow as they tell you how good a condition your purchase is. Couldn't recommend Ron's razors highly enough. He tells you they are shave ready....they are, beautiful examples of the craft.

Good Lord! Where is he finding these? Daddy wants the peaso and the 1937 puma!
So I got into DE and now to straights because I was tired of spending alot of money....even at Costco for Mach 5 no 6? 8? 9? (How many blades are they up too now?)
Now I'm looking at a 600 dollar CNC to make custom scales!
I'm a RAD, and general AD freak show!

Thanked: 104The Dorko 651 13/16 bought from RSPE 7027 (Ron Spencer) is the real deal. Beautifully prepared and sharper than any other razor offered by anyone. You won't need a finisher to re-touch for 3 months, and if a stone is required, it need only be a finisher (10k) AND LEATHER, maybe some crox if you feel so inclined. If your like me and buy razors regularly, sure you may need a few more stones, but if you only have one or two razors then a finisher will be fine. My stones and technique are 1k/6k combo (King - clay based) a 4k naniwa deluxe 210 x 70 x 25 (Top of the line), a naniwa superstone 8k, a naniwa super stone 10k, and I've subsidised the collection with my favourite 10k Ice Bear (King) clay based stroke with an artificial nagura. I find it easier to use and less like concrete compared to the naniwa. The ice bear is really smooth, and you tend by it's feel you don't need to spend and hour getting it right. I saw some dill deliberately 'bread knife' his blade to prove he could re acquire shave readiness. Like jumping out of a plane to prove you will hit the ground. I will never deliberately blunt a razor to help the old ego pumping. You can get an Ice Bear 10K in Australia from carba-tec, pretty dear at $140. When you see and feel this stone it will be going long after the naniwas have quit, they are 10mm thick as are the 8k's Both the 25mm thick naniwa deluxe 4k (Mounted and a durable heavy stone). The ice bear is a step up on quality and looks the goods as well as it functions.
