Thanked: 284I've purchased one razor from him with no complaints. I've watched a lot of his razors and prices and (JMO), it looks like he really puts a premium on mint condition items. So some razors that are less than mint the price is a lot lower (although maybe they're still a premium).
He has some #13 DT going for about $170 - $225 and up that he's advertising as new...
But yes, agree with Stefan - if you're looking for NOS Japanese Westerns look watch the classifieds here too (specifically Zethlent's postings).I love living in the past...

Jappannippon is a reliable vendor in terms of accurate descriptions and photos of his stock. His prices always have and will continue to push the very high end of the market. His resources for stock seem endless. At times you will find a reasonable price with a buy it now for a nice razor. This does not happen often. I have purchased several of his razors and been satisfied with the product but no so happy with the price. He is a seller operating in a sellers market and as long as his prices work for him I see no reason why anything should or would change.

I've bought a few. A coral, kropp, and a Swedish blade I can't think of the manufacturer off the top of my head. Some tarnish, a few very small pits in some, but all in pretty good shape that need minimal restoring, some just a buffing. He's a nice guy and honest. Like said earlier he doesn't deal in junk and I'm more than comfortable buying from him. Plus I usually get my stuff w/in 7-8 days which is better than ups here!
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I'm not sure about the history of yen/usd exchange, but this is Takeshi's explanation on the pricing:
"Iwasaki gave me the same price as two years ago, so Japanese Yen / U.S. dollar foreign exchange rate is worse than two years ago, but I stay the same price too. "
I'm not claiming to have any degree of knowledge, but I'm wondering if perhaps these are being made by Mizouchi's apprentice?Jon
