Kamasori was chipped & not shave ready
Hello all, happy holidays-
Recently got a Japanese kamasori blade from the 'bay. the seller listed it as shave ready.
When it came it had 4 chips in the cutting edge and did not pop arm hairs for nuthin.
It was well packed and I doubt the chips could have occurred from shipping.
I complained to the seller and he offered a $20 refund (his typical honing fee).
It was $68 + $14 shipping.
In yer folks experience is this something I could resolve with Ebay?
Don't know how they deal with buyer probs internationally.
Or just take the $20....?
thanks
Joe

I don't know how they would handle an international transaction. I do know that you will be stuck for the return shipping unless the seller agrees to refund that as well. If you contact ebay, open a dispute, escalte to a claim if the seller is not agreeable to a satisfactory solution, ebay/paypal will probably rule in your favor. Assuming they do that you have to return the item and the original purchase price/shipping will be credited less the return shipping.
If you keep it either you will have to hone it, or send it out to a pro honer, which will cost you at least the partial $20.00 refund + the shipping. I guess it depends on which you feel is the lesser of the two evils.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 2591If you say the item was not as described you can ask for refund and I'd try for full refund including shipping (international shipping is expensive).
The fact that the razor has chips on the edge means the item was misrepresented as it can't be shave ready. Take some good pics of the issue to show ebay if needed to support your claim.Stefan

It's hard trying to figure the lesser of two evils, odd that the seller has hundreds of positive feedbacks...
thanks

Remember the folks normally put a feedback when they get the item, not when they use it.

Thanked: 603And make sure to submit several photos of the razor in it's packaging (and varying stages of "undress") -- the purpose is to visually document how the damage to the blade could not have occurred because of poor packaging or during shipping; rather, the item's condition was misrepresented and shipped "as-is".
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I agree, you should file a claim with eBay for the reasons stated.
When it's all said and done, in the spirit of Christmas, I will hone your Kamisori for you (free of charge, just cover return shipping.)Last edited by Bayamontate; 12-24-2013 at 05:49 PM.

I'd offer to settle for 30 refund, then let him move it to 25 or accept the 30. That'd be the quickest. If seller won't budge off 20, start an "action"... see where it goes. Seller has admitted fault by offering 20.
Don't lose a bunch of sleep over it.
best of luck.

There are chips and than there are chips. The razor shouldn't have had any, but since it does, how severe they are ought to be considered as to whether it is a deal breaker or not. If they are more than micro chips I'd want a refund + shipping. Post a photo if possible, I'm curious to see it.
