I have an old(ish) Soviet razor here that has a point much like that. It's a great little shaver, but that point's kind of the opposite of what I like.

EDIT: found it in an old SOTD pic:

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

That guy must have just bought that as I saw it in classic shaving no more than 2 weeks ago. I despise that toe but maybe it shaves great. That was the last one of the "customs" available recently if I recall correctly.

Well, that's sure to make it easier to sell broken razors as NOS.

So many razors on e-bay like this it is starting to look normal. I understand they make great razors but this one I wouldn't give a second look too.

Somebody's gonna buy it, in fact it's already at 50% of the retail price and has pretty much assured to climb even more.

I've noticed that most people care more about a 'deal' than figuring a value. There are so many razors on ebay right now with cheaper buy-it-now price than this one, which are better in all aspects - from workmanship to brand name to skills equipment, and work, necessary to produce them, to shaving quality. Yet this one will sell and for significantly more, only because it's 'made in USA' and the mediocre finish has been spun into 'antique armor' marketing term, and because it was originally priced at a ridiculous amount.

May be we're seeing a new trend being born - instead of spending hours cleaning up a razor, just give it a quick once-over with the emory paper, dip it in vinegar, hone it and sell it as 'antique armor' finish.

I like my Hart Steel 7/8 square point but THAT is one ugly razor IMO.

TIL: some mistakes are made on purpose
But of course there is no accounting for taste, and I do hope the lucky winner is happy

Way to bastardise the Lewis style there Hart. They should have ground it square or french and left it bright.

Man, A lot of negativity on this thread. I know I'm in the minority but I really like the look of that razor. I typically buy razor with much more classic attributes but nothing wrong with something a lil out of the box. I have a mixture of foreign and domestic razors and I find that the shave quality has more to do with my technique and the person who hones the razor than were it is made. Ive seen many people really enjoy their Hart razors. We should be appreciating the work done with the razor. Why assume this razor came from a mistake or mishap? Its not like Hart is making junk pakistan quality stuff.
