And then you run into something cool...
Hart Steel Custom 28 Straight Razor | eBay
Hammered tang, distressed steel finish, funky tip and ?? scale material... Had no idea these options were even available. Is this a One-Off type design or ? I 'really' like how the texture of the hammered steel compliments the scales!

Probably just me, but I'd never be able to get over that toe. I think it looks broken.

That is what I thought as well... It has that weird-cool thing jumping out everywhere... I guess it could be a tip-repair but the tolerances looking from above with the blade closed are pretty tight... Dunno.
Definitely one of those razors you start to scroll past then do a double-take after which all the details start to pop!
Any ideas on Scale ID anyone?

hi,
go it off classic shaving...it was an impulse buy, and now i need some cash. Thats how it came, they called it a bow point. I didnt shave with it, just did a arm hair test, and it' very sharp.

Dear spaceman111188,
Just wondering if you can give more details on how you got this razor and if the tip were broken and repaired or designed specifically that way? Have you tried shaving with it? If so, how was it?
Thanks for your time and any information!

Hmmm... Makes it even more intriguing... Never heard of a Bow Point. ??

Could it be that the boys at Hart have a 'waste not want not' philosophy ? I cannot imagine that being something that a maker would do on purpose. Maybe salvage one that the wheel caught and call it a custom ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It looks like it was sanded lengthwise with 120 grit. And that toe just does not look right.

Thanked: 498"Bow Point" ?????? I guess its better then them calling it an inclusion in the metal. I once heard that one with someone explaining his screw up...

Looks like the point was broken and ground down to me too, and ditto on the low-grit, wrong way sanding.
If that razor was made that way on purpose, the purpose was dumb.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.
