Holy Toledo
I have a 7/8 sister to this razor and would love to have this 6/8 clean specimen to go along with (despite the narrow blade):
Vintage Maher Grosh Sheffield Diamond Edge Wedge Straight Razor Shave Ready | eBay
Please see fit to cease and desist bidding against me.
I don't know what my limit is, but that were getting close to it.
as you were.

Good thing you posted Wade - I was just about to place a healthy bid and thought "You know, someone on SRP may have posted that he was gunning for this one - it sure is as close to perfect as I've seen here lately". So I checked an here it is! Good luck and enjoy if you get it!

Thanked: 4826Nice blade. I always wait and bid in the last few seconds with my top bid. Bidding ahead just gives too many people the chance to bid you up. Be wise to the way of the snipe. Good luck!

That's a looker. I'm not in the market right now, but I would have a hard time refraining if I were.
Good luck!

Nice, hope you bring it home. What I'm wondering is whether the reference to Sheffield is because it was made with imported Sheffield steel, or if it is describing the grind, as being typical of Sheffield razors. Curious about that and I guess we'll never know for sure. BTW, way back ebay didn't hide bidders identities. So friends always would know if you were competing with them for an item. I've known guys in the pipe collecting world who had a falling out over that kind of thing.
Here is a pic of the razor in question for future viewers of this thread after the link is gone ;
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I saw that as well. M&G imported razors, so it is probably Sheffield made. Why is it so 'perfect'?
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
