    Ok will do, its got browns etc in the stone as well, from my experienceit looks like a natural stone tho, ill get pics in a day or two when I get back to work, had 4 wisdom teeth cut out yesterday.

    the chip in it makes me think manmade as well. How hard was it to lap it flat? Was it an oilstone? have you compared it to other known hone grits on a piece of steel?

    So in case you didn't get it, I believe GHIG is the green hone if indeterminate grit!
    I too believe from the appearance of the chip that the hone is synthetic, not from a quarry. I have nothing else to contribute as I do not recognize the hone.
