Thanked: 40Lot of 7 Dubl Ducks including Grim Reaper
I'm surprised I have not seen a thread on this auction with multiple high-end Ducks:
Dubl Duck Lot of 7 Grim Reaper Dwarf Special 1 Satinedge Wonderedge Goldedge | eBay
The auction appears slightly mislabeled. It states Lot of 7, but only lists 6 razors in both the description and the photos (Reaper, Dwarf, Special #!, Goldedge, Satinedge, Wonderedge). Even so, that's quite a lineup of Ducks for one auction.Last edited by Bordee; 04-27-2014 at 01:07 AM. Reason: add pics

That's because it is generally considered bad form to list active auctions. Just a friendly FYI.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thanked: 40I was not aware of that. Per the moderator's post, there is no mention that live auctions should not be discussed:
See http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...moderator.html
Looking at the most recent posts, several involve live auctions as well. Not to be argumentative, but where do you get that it is bad form to list or discuss live auctions?
I have seen many threads were people are asking for advice as to whether they should bid on something. I see other posts were the people are looking to identify a razor listed in a live auction. Discussing such topics on this forum helps members make a much more informed decision about bidding.
Further, if this section of the forum were limited to non-live auctions, there would not be a lot to talk about. Posts would be limited to "look what I won/lost" or "look at how much someone paid for razor X"

If you notice in your examples of other posts that have included auctions, they are not just a heads up of hey look at this item on e-bay. There is a purpose of people asking specific questions on certain e-bay auctions.
What is considered bad form is posting a link to an auction with no other purpose than to raise awareness of said auction, at least in my mind.

Thanked: 40
My intention was not to simply raise awareness for the auction. I posted because I was struck by how unique and interesting the auction was. I have never seen a Wonderedge, Goldedge, and Reaper sold in a same lot. I have seen past posts that share the same spirit as mine in this auction forum that are like "Wow, look at this cool 10/8 Sheffield blade" or "Look at this unique 7 day set in ivory." I did not see previous complaints about the poster linking to a live auction.
From a forum perspective, should we refrain from discussing interesting items that we see in live auctions out of concerns that it will raise the bidding?

The subforum name is 'Auction Talk'. About says it. This has come up many times in my time here. The general concensus is that we police ourselves as to concerns of bad form. Posting links to auctions is one way of discussing them. Just remember to put on a picture of the item in the thread so that as the auction ends, the link may not work, but the thread is relevent.
Otherwise, a bunch of words with no visuals are clogging the forum!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
