Ten days. No razor
So, I bought a Rafl Aust 6/8 on May 17 directly from.Herr Aust. All seemed to go well. Payment of €160 was made to Herr Aust via PayPal on May 17. He sent it May 20. Seemed to clear US Customs and departed a sorting station in NYC on May 25. Figuring that May 26 as a holiday it has now taken six days to NOT YET make it to Central Florida from NYC.. As I got a.package sent from.Mission, KS in 2 days, you gotta wonder
I sent some e-mail to Herr Aust. Hopefully he can help somehow. Anyone else have any suggestions,? Thanks.Last edited by Phoenix51; 06-01-2014 at 02:35 PM.

I live in Canada. I purchased a straight from a gent here on SRP who lives in TN. He sent it May 19th. Ten days later it shows up at the Miami sortation center. I may grow old and die before it comes to Canada, clears customs and then endures the Canadian Postal system.

Yeah. I'm not really worried in the true sense of the word. I just find it puzzling how the USPS functions sometimes.

I've seen this before. I've made purchases from Europe and Asia for shipment here in the US. Sometimes I get them within the specified delivery time, but other times there is a delay on the US side for some reason.
Once I made a purchase from an online shave store in Turkey. The store had to send 2 separate packages (via local postal service) within 2 days apart due to back-ordered items. I tracked the packages online. The last package that they mailed was the first one I received, on time. The first package that they mailed was delayed on the US side (in Flushing, NY to be exact); I didn't get that package until 2 weeks later.
International postal service is weird like that. You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

USPS. It's like Fedex in slow motion. And random delays.

You think that's bad, I recently shipped to someone in Canada. It got there half a month late after taking a significant vacation in Singapore. I also shipped a razor to Germany once which ended up going through the postal system in Kenya for about 2 weeks before finally getting to Europe. Sometimes I just really don't understand.

From my experience, they sit at the hub for a few days before departing and even then, it is snail mail from there. I predict you will see it on Teusday!
I doubt is Aust can help at this point. So...you got the 6/8? I held one and tested it last week.
Nice razor!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Just because it has cleared Customs in NY does not necessarily mean that it has been turned over to USPS for delivery.
What you're experiencing, judging by what I have observed in the past, is completely normal... I know it's tough to wait!

I know of your frustration! I do a lot of shipping using the USPS and in general I truly feel that they do an outstanding job! However there are occasions that make me crazy! Check out this 'adventure'! Please scroll down to the end of my original post to see how it got to me and then check out how it was sent back!
