    The name is misspelled, which has interesting consequences if it would be spelled like that on the tang.
    Someone here mentioned that the JR razors that shipped to the colonies all had the 'D' missing from Rodgers.
    I also know that Sheffield steel made for sale to the colonies was made inferior to the steel for England, so as to give England an edge if they'd ever have to fight the colonies again (fat lot of good it did)

    That would mean that this razor would be of inferior quality compared to other JR razors.
    I can't really make out the markings, but I think the D is there, so probably only the description is wrong.

    In any case, it looks like an awsome shaver.
    But for that amount of money I'd contact Robert Williams.
    It wouldn't have that sense of empirical history though.
    Inferior steel? Utter rubbish - why would we bother?
