dodged a bullet
I just saw this on the bay and put a bid down on it. Went back a few minutes late to ogle at the pics and noticed 2 big cracks towards the heal. a couple minutes later i was outbid and very relieved.

Thanked: 1184I forgot to check once and clicked a bid on one that was a lot higher than that. The pucker factor subsided in the same fashion yours did. I sent a note to the seller and he pulled the razor.

I'm wondering if that isn't a regrind somewhere along the way ? The only pipe razor/wostys I've seen were wedges. Could be why the crack at the heel.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

You could have withdrawn your bid, the text description of the blade doesn't match the pics. Failing to mention the blade has two cracks in it makes the blade far from solid IMO... one word of advice, I always formally withdraw a bid, because if someone outbids you, then withdraws their bid, and you're bid is next - guess what - your on the hook for it.
That's what I do at least, speaking for myself....

I notice the seller has 100% feedback. He is probably clueless as to straight razors and maybe is unaware that there are cracks ? Perhaps some kind soul, not me, I've got troubles of my own ....... might message him through the bay and make him aware of the defects.

Thanked: 1184Ask the seller if you should or if he is going to pull it off. He may just not want the hassle of granting your bid release either.
