Saw that blade yesterday and noticed the same. Too bad really. Excellent blade minus the crack.

There is a crack coming out of the first chip from the toe. With the broken scales what is usable?
    It was a nice razor.
Ya know that is a banging razor. The spine is pristine. So you give back a 1/16. Even at an 1/8th its still a chopper. Dust and CA should have those scales saved. That looks like a good summer project price dependant. Even in new horn scales. That would make a fine addition to a collection. Crack is the unknown.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

It's a bit more than an 1/8". It looks longer on the other side. Think at least a 1/4" if not more. If it was not cracked you are right no big deal. But it is definitely cracked. He has some bids on it at $16.50. It will be a lesson learned for somebody.

Cheap=fun project, but I wouldn't go for it just to have a big FBU. That crack could go up a lot farther than the picture lets on.

Razor Hone Cutler's Green | eBay

Pretty irresponsible to just declare something to be that when nobody knows... I'm not even doubting it's a good stone, it's calling it that...

For that kind of money the buyer should know what he's looking at. You would think.

The seller is actually quite well known in the straight razor community.
