This is just annoying, but not particularly shameless I guess. An auction, but sad to see 2 bids on it and I hope people didn' fall for the "NOS-looks-unused" story. If you actually have the patience to read through the painfully long, unnecessary and misleading description, where they failed to provide basic information like the size of the blade (5/8" btw), the guy says something like "it has original grind marks". I am no expert, but I have never seen a W&B with grind marks like that and it seems to me like those could be new marks. So perhaps it has been reground? Or just dremelled to death...? On the hone wear, he says there is almost none, but the blade geometry speaks (to me) differently, or am I wrong?

Most certainly freshly ground. Most likely with a buffer and not an actual stone.

You can see the buff line on the tang past the blade in the second pic. Har!

It's definitely been touched up with greaseless compounds. You notice he says "LOOKS UNUSED NOS". If you look at the other side of it, you can see where they used greaseless on it & stopped at the tang like jmercer says! Then he has that long description like you're really getting a good deal & has many words capitalized. I would definitely stay away from it but he already has some poor suckers bidding on it especially the highest bidder who has two bids on it because he thinks it is NOS! This seller is a joke but sad he has that long item description. Then he says this:

"Some of the EXCITING brands we will be offering include: WADE & BUTCHER, BARBER'S USE, MORLEY CLOVERLEAF, DOVO, HENCKELS, BOKER, ROBESON CUT. CO., CATTARAUGUS, CASE, IXL WOSTENHOLM, DUBL DUCK, GRIM REAPER VESUVIUS BRESNICK LIFETIME, OLD SHEFFIELD, SOLINGEN, SEVEN DAY SETS, USA MAKERS and many others! Please feel free to contact us if there are any particular items/brands you are seeking. We welcome all questions and comments, so do talk to us. We want you to have fun and a good time with our auctions. Thank you for your interest and please see all our other auctions!"
"You are being NICE to Mother Nature by not polluting her with your used shaving trash. Second, YOU SAVE A TON OF MONEY!" &
"Imagine the look on that persons face when they open the box and see such a gift of HIGH QUALITY and THOUGHTFULNESS! Please BUY HERE as we STAND BEHIND all the products we sell and WE UNDERSTAND the needs of the Straight Razor shaver and Collector."

He just goes on & on. Then look at the questions & answers he posted at the bottom................5/8 at the widest! This guy is a fraud.
Now have a look at his other items. This is what annoys me a lot when people say "barbers use" on a razor that doesn't even say it on the blade plus W&B didn't make small FBU razors!

Old Sheffield Wade Butcher Straight Razor 100 Shave Ready Small Barbers Use | eBay

A couple of his razors have a lot of hone wear on one side it seems.......some have hone wear in the middle.
    Ohhh yeah, so EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!

Look at this. Use the Zoom function. The price is such a rip off!

Original Still Life Oil Painting Straight Razor Realism Artwork Framed Artist

Wow...........I could just see that hanging on my wall.
Look at the sellers other items. At least some of the others have a background but this one doesn't have anything. This seller also has nude women that look terrible plus what if some kids are looking!
It just never ceases to amaze me...................

OK thats it. The little boy in me can't take this any more. I tried to resist but I am weak.

Tomorrow look for a RARE Butterscotch Brush on the Bay.

Don't beat me up to bad but do know before hand that the "buy it now" price is a joke, well mostly anyway.

    Happy bidding. LMBO
