Mark (MyCarver) can cure that if the blade is worth it.

But yes, save the old ones for a shorty.

    Cheers, Steve

[QUOTE=prodigy;1593641]I'm feeling shame for this razor. The plastic handle was broken on the end, from the seller. I took the gamble and turns out it's ivory. Gulp.

Yep, they're Ivory. I bought one awhile back for under $20 I think & they were Ivory but they are stained. I first tried some polish but that wouldn't do it. I then tried to sand then down with some fine sandpaper (3k, 2.5k & 2k) & the etch started to wear away but still the staining remained so I just set them aside for now.

I might have an idea for the staining. As long as the etch is actually etched in, and not just a dye or other color means of marking...

If you have another piece of ivory it can be repaired. Cut below the pin hole and use a scarf joint.

    Unhappy

It may be worth having someone like mycarver make a liner for the scale and patch the end. Those are not common

You don't need a liner if you use a scarf joint and it looks better. It allows plenty of material for bonding. Somewhere in theses forums is a pictorial of how it is done. I think Scienceguy posted it.
