    Very old antique german straight razor with home made scales~ very unique blade, tarnished, but does not have any nicks.! Amazing late 1700's early 1800's! One of a kind

    Here is the magnificent beast:

Size:  43.5 KB

    The seller says " I have never seen a cut throat with this shape blade (Until today then 2 come along) Nice clean razor stamped Soule 85 Ave Du Main Paris looks very little used "

    And yes - he has listed another make of razor with the same profile - the original owner was adept at honing!

    So they believe the maker intentionally put the etching/design where the bottom right corner would be cut off? Really??

    Seriously..... One of the main problems I have with honing is following the previous owners technique.

    The more I look at this I wonder if they tried to remove a crack or chip?

    But then the spine show "slight wear".
