Did you return it? Even if the seller doesn't offer returns, it is still covered by the ebay money back guarantee. If an item isn't as described you can get the purchase price and shipping refunded.

Thank you very much for that suggestion. It never even occurred to me. I contacted the seller, so I'll see what they say.
