"Doble Temple"?
So, I was browsing and saw this guy:
Filarmonica 'Double Temple' Straight Razor | eBay
I am untrained in my Filarmonicas, but this looks to my untrained eye as a cheap knockoff. Thoughts?
Crooked, wrong font, basic etching. Cheap plastic scales with no wedge. No markings on the tang on either side. yet, tons of people bidding. What do they know that I don't?State v. Durham, 323 N.W. 2d 243, 245 (Iowa 1982) (holding that a straight razor is per se a "dangerous weapon").

I saw that one and thought the same thing...no stamp on the tang and the etching on the blade face looks like my cat did it...thought of emailing the seller and asking him some questions. It looks not even remotely close the the DT's I have or have seen other than it is a RSO...
edited to add: here is a pic of a Filarmonica Doble Temple #14 for reference:

I was thinking the same thing. The etching is off center and slanted and looks fuzzy, but could be the angle of the picture. Since I don't own one I have no clue. I remember seeing some unmarked ones along time ago that everyone said were real, but if I remember correctly they looked better than that though. That could be a later production. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. Usually if I can't find info on here about a razor and it is more than I am willing to take a chance with I stay away from it.

Thanked: 4829They are legit fill's from Spain. They are "unbranded" as in they don't have the regular tang stamp and I believe used to be referred to as to a supplier name, as they had sold a lot. My mind wants to say WestCoastShaving, but you should take that with a grain of salt. I have one and it still takes the same edge, the fit and finish is not the typical level we usually see in this brand.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 4942These were actually the last generation of Filarmonica's. Ray Dupont (Deceased) purchased all the remaining 7/8 ths years ago. They were not the most fun razor to hone, but shaved nicely. Just had one in the other day for a honing. Hadn't seen any in a couple years.
Have fun
