    The seller's description ;
    Mfg./Origin: Bresduck Inc. Solingen, Germany
    Markings/Production Date: Marked ‘Lifetime’ ‘Dubl Duck’
    Size: 5/8th - Extra Hollow Grind - Spike Point
    Notes: A holy grail razor for many this dubl duck ‘grim reaper’ is in excellent condition with very minor spots of surface discoloration on the blade. There is very little hone wear. There are no chips or cracks in the blade. There are no cracks in the scales. The brass inlay within the scales is vibrant and shows minimal wear. What makes this straight razor even more rare is that it inclues its original leather case (marked with dubl duck, lifetime and the size 5/8th). This razor does not come up very often - I have not seen another Dubl Duck Grim Reaper in this condition with its original sheath. You probably won’t see another again. It is worth selling off part of your collection so you can afford this razor.
    In many years of looking at these on ebay, elsewhere, I've only seen one ........ maybe two ....... with the dubl duck sheath, and the razor that was with those was not in this fine a condition. Very scarce in this condition, but far more than I would have expected someone to pay. They really wanted it obviously.

    I was guessing around 8 but it was a cherry razor and Crackers had the price almost perfect. We were watching together :<0) If a guy wanted quality over quantity this was a good purchase. The thing that keeps me from spending that much is the fact that it still sits in celluloid which is half the value and a time bomb.

    I'm not sure it's as mint as it appears at first glance. You can see traces of "problems" on the blade and scales and the picture isn't really that clear. I also suspect it was cleaned up quite a bit.

    The other thing is getting paid. I have no knowledge of the buyer, he may be pure as the driven snow, and as dependable as the sun rising in the east, and setting in the west, but whenever I see an ebay item go for double the average price, I always wonder if the seller will get paid.

    With my luck the blade would rot off before my turn came around.

    The highest price a willing buyer would pay and a willing seller would accept, both being fully informed, and the property being exposed for sale for a reasonable period of time.

    But .... It ain't me!

    I have a Otto that apparently acts very similarly to the Reaper, having said that I have five other razors that do the same job just as well as the Reaper. The minister for finance gave me the go ahead for a Christmas present, too rich for my blood though. I have however shown SWAMBO what the Reaper and Vesuvius look like just in case, you never know....
