This is listed as a gilette razor, but it looks more like some window furniture.

I believe that razor uses the Gillette Trac II Cartridges and, like Substance mentioned, they slide on from the side then pop out. The Trac II was one of the first razors I used and I remember getting bit a couple times while taking the cartridge off... I think there was a blank space in the corner of the refill plastic you were supposed to use for "safe" removal but, it was just quicker to slide it off with your fingers and a razor that was poorly rinsed/put away was dry and gummy thebnext time round so set up for mishaps... My earlier lessons in Gear Maintenance!! ;-)

I've seen these in antique shops from time to time.

    Hey Ed,

Is this what you are referring to? For some reason all that shows up from your post are the numbers 281285495856 so I did a search using those numbers and the link is to what showed up.

I've got one of those, and a bunch of blades to go with it. Part of my non-straight razor arsenal. Use one out of the arsenal every once in awhile to remind myself what a thing of beauty and grace a straight razor shave can be when done right.

Thanks Ed, While I seldom travel I was wondering if something like that would be a little more 'Classy' than the modern off the shelf junk.

Richard, thank you, that's helpful. Now, does it need vintage cartridges or do the current ones fit Just wondering
